Who is it for
This level 1 carpentry programme is designed for anyone looking to start a career in the carpentry industry. The course offers excellent preparation for further training or as the first step of your carpentry career.
Interview Skills Assessment
You will be required to attend a Welcome Event, details will be provided upon application.
What will I need
4 GCSEs at grade 2/E or above and must include English and maths.
What is covered
The course covers a range of carpentry/construction topics such as:
• Hand tools
• Portable power tools
• Basic woodworking joints
• Manufacturing of routine joinery products
What can this course lead to
The course is ideal preparation for further practical training. You can progress on to a relevant level 2 programme or an apprenticeship, providing you have achieved grade 3/D GCSE in English and maths or functional skills. You may also use the
qualification to take your first steps into a career in construction.
