Who is it for
This course is a natural progression from the level 1 qualification for students who wish to increase their knowledge and practical skills ready for employment. The course covers more advanced motor vehicle subjects such as chassis technology, engines, transmission and electrical and electronic technology.
Interview Skills Assessment
You will be required to attend a Welcome Event, details will be provided upon application.
What will I need
4 GCSEs at grade D/3 or above including English and maths (or equivalent functional skills grade) and completion of the Level 1 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance (QCF) or equivalent plus a reference from your tutor.
Direct access to this programme is possible but you will be required to have GCSE maths and English at C/4 or above and attend an interview.

At series of online exams, written assignments along with practical and theory coursework.
What can this course lead to
This course may offer an entry route to Apprenticeship programmes or Level 3 Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles programme, providing you have achieved English and maths GCSEs at grade C/4 or equivalent functional skills grade. It is also highly regarded by employers and can help you gain employment in a number of motor vehicle roles.
Are there any additional costs
You will need to supply your own overalls and safety boots, along with sufficient stationery for class work.
