This course is ideal if you are undecided about the vocational area you would like to train in.

You will be required to attend a Welcome Event – details will be provided upon application.

What will I need

You will need to be aged 14 and over.

What is covered

You will be supported in developing your numeracy and literacy skills through an engaging and motivational approach which will enhance your confidence in these areas. Through a unique and supportive tutorial system you will become a more
confident and independent learner, helping you to reach all of your goals.
You will achieve a Level 1 Certificate in Vocational Studies, Sports Leadership Award, E–Safety Award, Mental Health and Wellbeing Award along with a literacy and numeracy qualification.
As part of the course you will undertake the Level 1 Award/Certificate in Vocational Studies. You will have the opportunity to select a range of vocational options including:

• Healthy Living
• Health and Social Care
• Art
• Public Services
• Media
• Drama
• Engineering
• Construction Skills
• Creative writing
• Horticulture
The Sports Leaders qualification will focus on establishing leadership skills and planning and leading sports activities. The programme also encompasses a weekly sports session.

You will achieve a Level 1 Award/Certificate in Vocational Studies, Sports Leadership Award, First Aid qualification, E–Safety Award, Mental Health and Wellbeing Award along with a literacy and numeracy qualification.

What can this course lead to

This course is an ideal starting point for a variety of other courses, from
Welding to Media or Animal Care to Construction. You will also learn important employability skills and explore your options for further training, apprenticeships or employment.
