Who is it for
The Access to Higher Education course is specifi cally designed for motivated individuals aged 19 and over who wish to go on to study a degree, progress in their career, or simply extend their knowledge after being out of formal education for some time.
Interview Skills Assessment
You will be required to attend a Welcome Event, details will be provided upon application.
What will I need
Students will need GCSE English and maths at grade A*/9 – C/4 to enter the Access to Higher Education Computing.
What is covered
The Computing course offers a range of computing related subjects with an information systems focus from web design and production to applications
of computing in a business environment. Optional units are available for computing subjects and can be discussed at interview. You will also study HE study skills which will help to prepare you for study at a higher level. The pathway offers progression
to degree level courses including University Centre Peterborough's BSc (Hons) in Computing and Information Systems.
How is the course assessed
You will be assessed in a variety of ways including formal presentation skills.
What can this course lead to
The CAVA Access Diploma is QAA recognised and is accepted by UK universities as a standard entry qualification for degree courses. Each Access Diploma is designed to offer you the chance to return to study and prepare yourself for degree study.
After completing this Access course you can go onto degree level study in Computing and Information Systems and Computer Science.
