Local police offer support and advice to college students
Students at Peterborough Regional College will be visited by local police during their induction week this week. The advice sessions will take place in the student common room, where police will give a general talk and provide information on the different career options available within the police force.
The advice sessions are a new initiative which has been set up by Youth Work Team Manager, Nick Crippa. Nick has organised these sessions to take place on a monthly basis to ensure that students are given the opportunities to obtain advice and support from their local police and gain information on the variety of careers available within the police force.
Nick says:
“I’m extremely pleased that Cambridgeshire Police and PRC are working
together to provide our students with information regarding the police force
and crime. This is an exciting new adventure and I know the students will gain
a substantial amount of knowledge. “
He adds;
“The police are here to listen to students views and opinions, and inform
them about employment within the police service and provide monthly drop in
sessions were they can talk in confidence and discuss a range of crime related
subjects including bullying, crime and personal safety.”
