Who is it for?
This course provides exam preparation and practice for students who need an IELTS qualification for work or further study purposes (e.g. entry to higher education).
Interview / Skills Assessment
An informal interview and placement test is required.
What will I need?
An advanced level of English or a pass in the UCLES Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) Test.
What is covered?
The IELTS course provides training in academic and general English, including specific exam practice in listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
How is the course assessed?
IELTS examination.

What can this course lead to?
IELTS is the qualifying English test for Doctors and Nurses from outside the EU. Doctors are then able to progress to the PLAB test run by the General Medical Council.
IELTS at Band 6 and above is increasingly the English qualification of choice required by Universities in the UK, USA and Australia.

The IELTS course is available as an evening class (2 hours/week).
Students must be 16 years old before 1st September of the academic year in which the course starts.
