How do BTECs compare with A Levels?

AS and A Level qualifications focus on traditional, academic study skills. They normally take two years to complete. Many people use AS and A Levels to go on to university. Typical subjects you may study at A Level include English Literature, Maths or Biology.

BTEC National Diplomas are an alternative to A Levels. Not only do National Diplomas attract UCAS points for entry in to university but because they are designed in collaboration with industry, they also equip you with the skills and knowledge that employers are looking for. BTECs are internationally recognised as a real world alternative to A Levels and are assessed through assignments rather than exams.
